Bella Thorne in Blended

Bella Thorne in Blended

Bella Thorne is an actress to watch out for over the next couple of years, as she returns to the big screen in Blended.

Blended sees the actress turn her hand to comedy this week, as she teams up with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore for the first time: Frank Coraci is in the director's chair.

Blended kicks off a very busy year for Thorne, as she has a whole host of film projects in the pipeline.

After a bad blind date, a man and woman find themselves stuck together at a resort for families, where their attraction grows as their respective kids benefit from the burgeoning relationship.

This autumn, we will see Thorne team up with another great cast for family comedy Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Coolidge, and Dick Van Dyke are all on board, while Miguel Arteta is in the director's chair.

The film is a big screen adaptation of the book by Judith Viorst, and will follow Alexander's (Ed Oxenbould) terrible day.

Sticking with the family theme films, Thorne will lead the cast in Mostly Ghostly: Have You Met My Ghoulfriend.

While nothing is known about the plot, Peter Hewitt is in the director's chair. He has brought us films such as The Borrowers and Garfield, but this is his first movie since Surprise in 2012.

An exciting young cast has been brought together for the film, as Thorne is joined by Madison Pettis, Ryan Ochoa, and Calum Worthy.

Later this year, Thorne is set to swap the family film for horror as she stars in Home Invasion.

Directed by Sean Carter, the movie follows a family who are imprisoned in their own home by a gang of intruders. They are forced to play a deadly game.

Thorne will take on the role of Jamie, while Matthew Willig, Chandler Riggs, Natalie Martinez, and Ioan Gruffudd are all on board.

Amityville is another horror film on the horizon for Thorne, but it won't be released until the beginning of 2015.

Also starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cameron Monaghan, Taylor Spreitler, the movie follows a single mother as she moves her family into a new home. However, she does not know about the house's bloody history.

Thorne has also completed work on Big Sky and has The D.U.F.F. in the pipeline - not to mention a music career.

So, we are going to be seeing plenty of Thorne over the next twelve months or so, and she is on the verge of being a big star.

Blended is released 23rd May.
