Introducing: Delirium Tremens

Introducing: Delirium Tremens

Delirium Tremens (the DTs) are Karis McLarty, a melancholy ex-podium dancer clicking together the five-inch heels of her former incarnation, Nick Bovaird, who has travelled around the globe for a girl not once but twice, Ant Hull on electric guitar, Matt Povey on bass, and Jon Lamont on drums.

The DTs play as an acoustic duo or five-piece band, and are London-based.

“Gypsy Rose Lee meets David Bowie” - George Vjestica (Groove Armada), Delirium Tremens play insolent, lyrical, Folk Noir that slides seamlessly from rage through love and straight to the confessional. In the lyricism and arrangement, fragile echoes of Karen Dalton swing from the rafters of Edgar Allen Poe.

So what have they go behind them? Well they were Christmas Number One 2007 in the myspace Unsigned Folk Charts, Runners Up (out of 60 bands) in Vince Power’s Benicassim Battle of the Bands, 2007.

GarageBand Awards: Winners in: Best Lyrics in Folk Rock, week of 1Oct2007 , Best Melody in Folk Rock, week of 1Oct2007 Most Original in Folk Rock, week of 1Oct2007, Pop Video to watch at Reel Islington Film Festival 2008.

I Want You is their first video, directed by Tom Edmunds, assistant director to Anthony Minghella. It was launched in conjunction with Chiwetel Ejiofor OBE’s film Slapper for Film Four, at the Human Circus, Barden’s Boudoir London on 29th November 2007, and has American distribution through MWG Media.
