With V Festival in full swing this weekend, there will be a lot of challenges in making it through so we've got 20 top tips on attending and surviving the 2015 20th anniversary event.

Are you attending V Festival 2015?

Are you attending V Festival 2015?

1. Remember your tickets

It's your one-way ticket to the biggest party of the year, so set yourself a reminder on your phone to pack them and avoid the panic pat down dance when you get to the gates.

2. Carry a torch

There's nothing worse than having to stumble around trying to navigate your way back to what you thought was your tent, only to unzip someone else's.

3. Stay switched on

You'll need to save your mobile phone juice for all those #SELFVS you'll be taking over the weekend, so bring your phone to one of Virgin Media's recharge towers and get juiced up. Alternatively, pre-order a pocket charger from volt ahead of the festival and swap it during the weekend for a fully charged one - find out more at getvolt.co.uk/vfestival

4. Stay connected

Stay connected to everything you love while you're at V Festival thanks to Virgin Media. Connecting to Virgin Media's free supercharged wifi means you can stay in touch with your crew or upload pictures to social media to show everyone at home all the fun they're missing out on (not forgetting the hashtag #VFESTIVAL).

5. Rock the bum bag

Keep your belongings on you and be hands free, while paying homage to V Festival's humble 90s beginnings and the decade's ultimate fashion accessory.

6. Cut some shapes

Bust out some serious dance moves in V Festival's new dedicated dance tent, where you can get down to the likes of Duke Dumont, Oliver Heldens and Hannah Wants.

7. Attend a house party

Virgin Media's Our House is back with their unmissable house party, featuring exclusive sets from Mark Ronson & A-Trak at Hylands Park and Jungle in Weston Park.

8. Tune into V Festival

Listen to the official 20 Years of V Festival playlist on Spotify to get the party started ahead of the festival.

9. Don't forget the dry shampoo

For a low-maintenance festival look, go straight on the first day, wavy on the second day and finish with it 'up'-town funk.

10. Get yourself a waterproof

Easier to transport than an umbrella, you can tie it around your waist and throw it on when the skies open - or when the sun goes down to keep you warm.

11. Try something new

Smirnoff will be launching its new Smirnoff Ice Double Black with Guarana at V Festival and it'll be available at festival bars throughout the weekend.

12. Laugh

V Festival is all about bringing people together and, most importantly, having fun - so take a break from the music and head to the Glee Club Comedy Tent to laugh your socks off to some of the best comedy talent around.

13. Take a back seat

Forget about navigation issues and book coach travel through one of our official coach partners, Big Green Coach or National Express, to get to and from the festival.

14. Peg it down

Bring extra tent pegs for extra piece of mind and ensure your tent doesn't turn into a flying blimp, whilst making friends with campers who forgot to pack theirs.

15. Pre-order

Those clever masterminds at Halfords have created a service where you can pre-order your tent online and collect it when you arrive on-site at V Festival.

16. Apply sun-tan lotion

You're going to be outside the whole time, so make sure you bring sun cream to protect yourself from the elements. Otherwise, you could end up looking as red as the V Festival logo.

17. Play ball

Visit Carling's Game On tent to enjoy a game of table football and a nice, ice-cold pint of Carling.

18. Forget bar tokens

V Festival has abolished bar tokens this year, so you can pay as you go.

19. Water

Stay hydrated, stay healthy. At the risk of sounding like one of the oldies, remember to drink water to keep you hydrated throughout the weekend.

20. Have fun

You are celebrating the 20th anniversary of V Festival, so get ready for the good times, incredible headline acts and endless #SELFVS. Dance like no-one's watching.
