Ant & Dec

Ant & Dec

2013's music has been off the charts, with an amazing score of number ones dotted throughout the year here in the UK.

We've decided to take a look at our five favourites to have reached the coveted top spot on the UK charts this year, and with so many great hits to choose from, it was no easy mission.

Scream & Shout - will.i.am featuring Britney Spears

The unlikely collaboration came about and took the first number one of the year, with Britney's strange yet alluring British-esque accent gracing our ears. They screamed, they shouted and they let it all out as they blasted their way to the top of the charts with this club smash. Definitely a defining moment in will.i.am's career.

One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks) - One Direction

There's something we really shouldn't like about the biggest boy band of today taking on not one, but two classic songs and changing them completely to appeal to the teen-boppers of today, but the incredibly catchy lyrics hit us with force once more, and we couldn't help but find ourselves singing along.

Let's Get Ready To Rhumble - PJ & Duncan (Ant & Dec)

Perhaps the oddest number one entry of the year has to go to Ant and Dec, as they entered the charts with their comical single. They performed the track on Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV, and buyers flocked to digital stores to download the collaboration. To celebrate hitting the top spot, the pair donated all profits from the single - originally released in 1994 - to charity.

I Love It - Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX

The duo truly made a name for themselves this year with this brilliant tune that details the anger of coming out of a heartbreak, exploring the days when you start to become stronger and sadness turns to aggression. We can't wait to see what other pop tracks they have coming our way!

The Monster - Eminem featuring Rihanna

One of our favourite collaborative pairs got back together for another smash song, and the track sailed right to the top of the charts in super-fast time. The rapping of Eminem combined with Rihanna's dulcet and off-the-hook hook vocals meant we were all in for a treat that was absolutely on par with their Love The Way You Lie parts one and two.
