The Pussycat Dolls

The Pussycat Dolls

In 2005 six sexy ladies raised a fair amount of controversy in the mainstream arena with their single ‘Don’t cha’. The song, which was initially offered to The Sugababes and Paris Hilton (shocker, I know) was eventually taken on by the one-time burlesque troupe, fronted by Nicole Scherzinger.

It’s essentially about messing with a man’s head as he grows increasingly lustful for the Dolls instead of his own girlfriend. Busta Rhymes gladly sandwiched himself between the foxes for the track and delivered a hip hop remix of the song.

The number one UK hit spawned all kinds of reactions, which, for the most part saw a lot of jealous girlfriends relegating their boyfriends to the dog house. The trademark tune topped the UK charts effortlessly on its arrival and the brand of ‘Pussycat Dolls’ became an unavoidable accessory for any chick on a night out with the girls.
