Hailing from the familiarly disconsolate surroundings of an East Lancashire mining town UK, Roy Bright (vocals/guitars), Adam Stephenson (guitars), Graham Storton (bass guitar/vocals) & Peat “Crazy Texas” Hicks (drums/vocals) finalised a line-up during late July 07 that allowed each band member to collectively write and perform music that gives them the same great feeling they get when listening to music created by their favourite artists.

It will come as no surprise to any listener who enjoys their rock as much as this band that they draw influences from such greats as Foo Fighters, Metallica, Faith No More, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Guns 'n' Roses, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Weezer, Nirvana, Therapy?, The Smiths, Cave-In, Pantera, Neds Atomic Dustbin, Dinosaur Jr, THE LIONS, THE TIGERS, THE BEARS….OH MY!!

So how do they sound? Likened to Foo Fighters & Therapy, the tracks on their current EP, ‘One of my Bad Days, Death of a Rockstar & Saviour’ demonstrate a sound that combines the melodic qualities of indie with the innovation of rock and the power of metal.

Drawing on earlier successes with Roy’s band deponeye (that secured two tracks onto 2004’s smash hit driving destruction game Flatout on PS2/XBOX and PC platforms and the resulting attention from Revolver Records before the bands split) the band are diligently working on dramatically increasing their already healthy fanbase and becoming more visible in the worldwide rock community.

The guys are not afraid to get their own hands dirty by promoting themselves into fantastic opportunities and this has already begun in earnest as Exit State have recently secured non-ex licensing deals with Crucial Music for the track ‘One of my bad days’ (specialists in pitching music to the Film, TV and Game industries and have a fantastic track record that includes Heroes, Ugly Betty, Flash Gordon (The New Series), Weeds, Cloverfield Movie, One Tree Hill, Heroes, C.S.I, Dexter, Prison Break…The list is endless and also O’Neill Europe which has the guys music featured in their promo DVDs aired worldwide,

Further great opportunities that have been recently forged include selection onto a forthcoming compilation CD entitled Surf Rock. This is due for release summer 08 and will feature some great up and coming bands from the US and UK and also tracks from current members of Aerosmith, WASP, The Alice Cooper Band, The Ozzy Osbourne band plus many more world class artists. This release will receive national (US and UK) distribution, press coverage and should be a wonderful opportunity for the band.

Exit State is also experiencing great radio play with the tracks ‘One of my bad days’ and ‘Saviour’. The songs have been added to many radio stations playlists across the UK and the US including making the top 25 list over at Arizona based radio station KWSS 106.7FM proving that the American market may very well be an extremely lucrative territory for Exit State.

Last but by no means least, the latest promotional opportunity has seen the bands current record reviewed in Rocksound Magazine. This worldwide publication gave the guys a 7/10 review and described them as “Satisfyingly heavy, unexpectedly catchy, unashamedly experimental and curiously engaging – Impressive”.

With the release of the bands first promo video for the track ‘One of my bad days’ take a look at their video (below) which was shot by a friend of the band and storyboarded, co-directed and co-edited by the bands very own frontman Roy Bright, Exit State are ready to take their music to the next level in a bid to be on the world music stage

2008 just keeps getting better and better!
