Ronnie Wood wants The Faces to seal their reunion with a prestigious slot at the U.K.'s Glastonbury festival - with original frontman Rod Stewart joining them onstage.

The legendary 1970s band ended months of speculation earlier this year when they confirmed they will reunite for a gig in Sussex, England in August, with former Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall taking on vocal duties.

Reports suggested Stewart had declined to take part in the reunion, but Wood is adamant the Baby Jane hitmaker's packed schedule is to blame for his absence.
The Rolling Stones guitarist still hopes Stewart will re-join the rockers - and they are eyeing a slot at next year's Glastonbury.

Wood tells Britain's NME, "OK, firstly we haven't ruled Rod out! It's just that his schedule is totally crossing over exactly when we wanted him - he's not available. So, we've got Mick Hucknall because his voice is just like Rod's was in the '70s... If Mick wasn't on tour at the moment we'd be doing Glastonbury, (Britain's) Isle of Wight (festival) and all that... So unfortunately we're going to have to wait 'til next year for Glastonbury... The door's not closed to Rod."
