Introducing Andra Day

Born under the name Cassandra Monique Batie, Andra Day is a performer who brings joy and passion to the stage. In light of her recent Grammy's performance with Ellie Goulding, meet the rising star of the music world who is climbing to success and whose song, 'The Light That Never Fails', features on the soundtrack of award-winning film, MERU.

She has been raised from the production labels of Buskin and Warner Bros in which she has created her debut album 'Cheers To The Fall' released on August 28 of last year. Her varied music style includes blends of genres, including American soul, R&B, jazz, blues, disco and pop.

A recent project for Day was being commissioned for the recent film MERU in which she wrote and performed the song 'The Light That Never Fails'. The film follows the story of three climbers who attempt the feat of climbing Mount Meru exposing their grapples with obsession and loss. Meru is a treacherous mountain in the Himalayas and the film shows the incredible challenges in endeavouring to reach the summit.

Day recently exploded onto our screens with her performance at the 2016 Grammys in Los Angeles on the 15th February. Beginning the show on her own performing her single "Rise Up", she was joined by Ellie Goulding who harmonised her own hit song alongside Day.
