The Holidays - ‘Golden Sky Ep’

Emerging from Sydney to herald to the arrival of the northern hemisphere’s warmer months come the hotly tipped quartet The Holidays. The band is set to release their debut UK EP ‘Golden Sky’ in conjunction with their first ever UK live dates in May, including The Great Escape Festival in Brighton.

Golden Sky blends wild percussion, sing-a-long chant choruses, falsetto vocals and squawking guitars into an action packed, yet equally sublime journey.  The EP also features the insanely smooth synth-driven jam Broken Bones, and killer remixes of Golden Sky and Broken Bones by The Temper Trap and CFCF respectively.

The band recently made a huge impression at SXSW and completed their biggest ever sold out headline tour at home. This follows a main stage slot on the Laneway Festival (alongside Foals, Yeasayer, Beach House etc) that drew NME praise, and theatre shows with both Cut Copy and Sia, while the New Year has also seen the band become regulars on the Hype Machine charts.

“Another name to remember is The Holidays….as summery and breezy as the band’s name might suggest, full of verve and melody” NME

“In these gloomy winter times their unrelenting tropical vibes will have you kicking back on that imaginary beach in your mind in no time”

“The kind of loose, big-sky rock we imagine could only originate in Sydney, or some similar land of sun and weirdness and neon shorts”

“Their music is ridiculously fun, dance-able and radio-ready”

“young Australian band who may just yet have the makings of the next MGMT”
