Shout Out Louds

Merge Records is excited to release a new song from sophisticated Swedish pop maestros Shout Out Louds’ new record.

Illusions is taken from the band’s astonishing new album, Optica, due out April 30.

The album is the band’s fourth and marks 10 years since Shout Out Louds released their debut album ‘Howl Howl Gaff Gaff’

"Ten years is a very long time, when you're young," reflects Bebban, the band's keyboardist.

"Back when we were 'four boys and one girl who play together in a band', I don't know if any of us bothered to think much about where we would be ten years later."

But here they are, a decade on with a fourth fantastic release under their belts and a promising future still lying in wait.

For Optica, the band took a sharp turn from the greyscale, indoor landscape of their previous album Work in pursuit of boldness and brightness. They decided not to hold back, at all.

"Together we made up a downstairs world of explosive colours, big, warm sounds and a very, very uninhibited work process. We never worried about following a clear path."

The band will soon hit the road for worldwide touring including a multitude of shows at this year’s SXSW. The band's UK date at London's Lexington has sold out but tickets for an XOYO show on the 30th June are still on sale.

DATES:

02 April - The Lexington, London SOLD OUT
30 June - XOYO, London
