For those who haven't yet heard you, how best would you describe yourself?

I am quite a chilled person and l like hanging out with my friends and family. I love meeting new people and I am fairly confident. I love not only singing but listening to music as well.

For those who haven't yet heard you, how best would you describe yourself as an artist?

Unique, really acoustic based and I have an RnB kind of vibe, I like to add my own kind of twist to songs. I love being creative and writing my own music or taking a cover and changing it to suit my style.

Has music always been a passion of yours?

Since I was young I always knew I wanted to be a singer but I also played a lot of sports such as table tennis and football. If I hadn’t had the opportunities to develop my singing, then maybe I would have made it as a ping pong champion! But really I have no idea what I would be doing instead of singing.

How does it feel to already have such a strong following?

One of the reasons I love doing what I do is because of my fans. Without them I probably wouldn’t have been noticed and got to where I am today, so as corny as it sounds, I just want to ‘Thank You’ Harvstars.

Do you find it difficult to balance your working life with your personal life?

I sometimes find it hard because I used to spend so much time chilling with my friends but now I have to share my time keeping up with my social media, school work and studio time. My friends are so supportive though and understand if I can’t go out with them.

Who, what or where do you draw inspiration from?

I get my inspiration from YouTubers and other artists on the Internet. My manager is a big fan of Craig David so he introduced me to his style and ever since I’ve loved his music. Also I found Tori Kelly on YouTube, I love her music and I am a huge fan.

Your debut single 'Thank You' is due out soon, what can you tell us about that record?

'Thank You' is the first song I co wrote in the studio, so it’s special to me. The song is about loving someone just the way they are, thanking them for being them, it could be about a friend, family member or a partner.

If you could emulate the success of one artist in the business today, who would it be and why?

I would have to say Justin Timberlake. Not only do I like his music but he has worked hard since he was young to get where he is today. He also seems to have stayed grounded along the way, which is what I want to do.

Where do you hope to be this time in 12 months?

With a number one album and headlining my own gig in all the arenas around the UK. Oh and of course to have cracked America. Not a lot to ask!

What projects do you have in the pipeline that you can share some details about?

At the moment some of the stuff I will be doing isn’t ready to be announced but I will be performing at loads of gigs and festivals during the summer. So make sure you come watch!

Harvey's debut single 'Thank You' is available to pre-order now on iTunes.
