Being catapulted into the limelight must be something strange and difficult to come to terms with, but as a member of The Vamps, Connor is simply enjoying his time and hopes that the success of the band will continue on.

We got the chance to chat to the young rising star about the group's debut album which is to be released later this month, how happy he is to have such amazing fans and what to expect if you attend a Vamps live gig.

Your new single 'Last Night' is out next week and your debut album 'Meet The Vamps' follows a week later, so what are your feelings going into that?

I think for the single we aren't as worried, because we've done it twice before, but the album - we have no idea - I'm quite scared actually. We don't know what's gonna happen, but we're excited, very excited.

What should fans expect from this record?

Well, I think 'Wild Heart' is a good representation of our DNA and what The Vamps are all about, but we've also got a few ballads, a few really upbeat songs and then more stripped back and stuff like that. It's a variety, man.

How does it feel already to have such a loyal fan following?

It's really good man. It's nice when people turn up and you see familiar faces as well. It's weird, because you kind of get to know their names and stuff, it's really cool.

You recently toured with The Wanted, how did you find that whole experience?

That was really good man. I had one day off yesterday (April 2) after the tour and we're back working again. But, it was really good. We were playing some wicked places and Elyar (Fox) was there as well, so, really good, man. Really fun.

You're off on your own headline tour this Autumn, what should fans coming to those live dates expect?

A hot and sweaty live show! It's really good. We like to jump about and dance - well, we can't dance but we attempt to dance with our guitars!

When you're not on stage do you enjoy being on the road?

Yeah. We've just had a tour bus for the first time and we got to sleep and that was a really good experience. We got to write and stuff on the bus, so that was good.

What would you say are some of your favourite moments of your career so far?

I think playing in New York our first headline show was awesome. Releasing the first single 'Can We Dance' was great. We were really happy with the success we got from 'Can We Dance' and stuff, so that was cool. Yeah, playing Wembley Arena, that was amazing, so quite a few moments.

When you started out did you ever think you'd get to where you are today?

No, not at all. We started out on YouTube doing covers. The other guys started then I joined later and we didn't expect any of what we've got, but we're really pleased and we wanna keep going.

Should fans expect any big surprises in the coming months?

Possibly! I hope that they enjoy the album then we'll release some more stuff but yeah, we've got much planned.

What do you like to do in your down time?

I was home yesterday, I went for a Nandos with my friends. I like to play football, or paintballing. I like to keep active but at the same time chill out and stuff.

How do you find balancing your work with your personal life?

I guess it's not like, really hard at the moment, I still get to have a personal life and keep things private so that's great. We just carry on normally when we're home as if we're not in the band, do you know what I mean?

'Last Night' is out Monday, April 7 and The Vamps debut album 'Meet The Vamps' follows on Monday, April 14.
