Describing her sound as "new age country pop", Twinnie-Lee Moore is the former Hollyoaks star turned solo music artist, gearing up to take on the world with her exciting new material.

We got the opportunity to put some questions to Twinnie about her time in the industry so far, as well as what we should expect from her going forward and much more.

What challenges have you faced in the music industry so far?

It's so difficult to get seen and to be taken seriously. I think you can feel this is perhaps even more so with country pop music, although it's definitely a genre that is gaining a lot of popularity at the moment... which is exciting!

How difficult would you say this career path is in terms of making a name for yourself?

I think it's definitely going to be hard but I like a challenge, I work very hard and I'm very determined. Like I just mentioned, there seems to be a shift in the industry right now and people are warming up to the idea that country music is cool!

How important is it for you to have creative control over the work you produce?

Very, I don't like doing anything I'm not 110% about. I have a great writing team behind me that work with the likes of James Bay, Jason Mraz, 5 Seconds of Summer, so when I write I know it's going to be something good! Also, I think I'm experienced and being a bit older helps. I like what I like so I know myself more and trust myself, I suppose.

Where do you draw influence and inspiration from for your work?

Everywhere and everything! Books, people, friends... I'm constantly looking at situations, people watching and imagining their lives. Artist-wise, I love Shania Twain, The Carpenters and Billy Joel. I like every word to mean something, I don't want it to be there to fill a gap. I think I think too much!

If you could collaborate with anybody going forward, who would you choose and why?

James Bay, Andrea Day, Meghan Trainor, Billy Joel... I love Billy Joel, he's my idol. James Bay; his tone is insane and I love his songs. Andrea Day; I think she's cool and would make me look cooler! Her voice has such a great rasp to it. Meghan is just brilliant, I really like her new age barber shop style in some of her songs, they're totally genius and so relatable. The Queen of Pop Adele, just because I'd like to have a tea with her, she's hysterical!

Tell us a random, funny fact about you that not many people know.

I was Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams' backing singer and dancer on their UK promo for 'Blurred Lines', a few years back.

Do you have definitive aims or goals for your career?

I would like to be known as someone who made country pop cool! I would love to play The O2 and the Royal Albert Hall but they are dreams... whether they can come true I don't know yet, I'll have to see how this next year goes.

Where do you hope to be by this time next year?

I would hope to be on people's radars and hopefully have gained some success, and I'd really like to be at some stage of progress with an album!

What should we expect from you in the coming weeks and months?

My single is out this month and the full EP in February! I've got shows lined up for early this year over here and also across the pond in LA! Then we'll be doing some festivals and looking at an album in the autumn.
