Lisa Stansfield is back with a new album, a new producer, and an exciting new sound. Lisa Stansfield (20 million albums) would lay claim to being the UK's top female vocalist over the past 10 years. The Moment unmistakably Stansfield but the songs on the new album reveal an established artist still evolving, still new and still fresh. Now she releases her latest (album 6) titled The Moment, produced this time by Trever Horn innovative the best in the business, that describes the producer.Working with Trevor Horn is an inspired move, he is a innovative producer accredited as the talent behind notables such as Seal, and Frankie Goes To Hollywood. To label this album as 'sophisticated adult-orientated pop' does it no justice, the quality of her voice excels but does not stretch her.The stand out track has to be Lisa’s cover of Prefab Sprout’s ‘When Love Breaks Down’ for which Paddy McAloon wrote an extra verse just for her, gutsy strong and all Lisa. The sublime title track co-written by Stansfield herself ‘The Moment’, featuring a 40-piece orchestra is classic Lisa with a unique twist and the soulful, ‘If I Hadn’t Got You’, by Chris Difford and Chris Braide, is Lisa Stansfield to the core, honest, stylish and sensitive and the upcoming single, Treat Me Like A Woman, which finds Stansfield at her feisty best.

Tracks Say It To Me Now, and He Touches Me do not do justice to the artist, and feel like tracks aimed too much to the mainstream.

The Moment will no doubt consolidate Stansfield's position at the top of the pile of UK female singers, but it ultimately disappoints more than it delights.

The Moment’ is classic Lisa Stansfield with a twist. Her totally distinctive, effortlessly powerful voice is better than ever and the album is a testament to her ability to continually evolve and experiment as both a vocalist and an artist. What is enduring throughout the album is the variety of the material and the incredible range of Lisa’s voice.

The Album was released September 27th on ZTT Records. The first single, 'Easier/Treat Me Like a Woman' is out on the 4th October.
