Arcade Fire's cover for Reflektor

Arcade Fire claims 'Reflektor' is a dance album that belongs in a "really clear little world of its own".

The 'Ready to Start' band's latest record is a huge double album, and the band believe they have created a body of work which works as a concept album but will also get people moving.

The group's Richard Reed Parry said: "It's definitely in a really clear little world of its own ... I will leave [further description] until people have heard the record. Musically, though, we were trying to take it to a different place. People can dance to the whole record."

The album was produced by James Murphy, formerly of dance group LCD Soundsystem, who Richard says helped to propel a new dance groove within the band's sound.

He added to NME magazine: "This time James was a perfect fit for everything we were trying to do in getting a little dancier, and it was food to have someone else in the mix, who we all absolutely trusted. We plonked him down in the middle of our process, and he instantly got it. He was someone who had a kind of directorial role during the writing and arranging, and it was great to have him around for that. He was an external voice of authority that we could all lean on."

'Reflektor' will be released in October.
