Ben Haenow has made his return to the music industry with the release of his brilliant new single Falling Down. Born from reflection on a time in his life full of darkness and despondency, Haenow has crafted his most sincere track to-date, which serves as his fourth independent single. You can listen to the song on Spotify below:

Chatting about the song’s inspiration, Haenow said: “The song is loosely about my experience of The X Factor and the rise and fall of life after the show. It’s about that feeling of everything falling apart in your hands. I guess it was kind of a song about losing faith and not really knowing who you are or what your next move should be.

“Everyone has that one person you run to who doesn’t judge you when things go wrong and you just want to hide away but it seems you may even be losing that person too. I would say it was one of the songs I wrote at a time when I felt a little lost and disheartened with it all.”

As the fourth cut from Haenow’s upcoming second album, following in the footsteps of Alive, Forgive & Forget, and Rising, the star is showing that his talents don’t just reside in performing, but in songwriting, as well. He co-wrote all four of the songs with his brother Alex.

Haenow shot into the spotlight during his time on The X Factor in 2014; the eleventh series of the popular talent competition which he won. His debut single Something I Need shot to number one on the charts, but his working relationship with Syco eventually broke down. Now working as an independent artist, he seems more ready than ever before to take on the world and make a success of himself.

Falling Down is out now on iTunes and Spotify, available to download and stream.
