The 'Charlemagne' hitmakers think the former Oasis singer would make a "perfect" job of portraying the championship-winning tennis ace because they are both "proper rock 'n' rollers".

Frontman Tom Ogden, 23, said: "If we make any money from our album we'll fund a film about Fred Perry's years living in Hollywood."

And on why he thinks the 'Wonderwall' singer is the one for the job, he told the Daily Star newspaper: "He was hated by all the film stars because he was a proper rock 'n' roller. Liam is the most rock 'n' roll lead singer of all time, so he'd be perfect.

"If you've got a rock 'n' roll tennis player who's from a similar area of the country as Liam, it'd make sense to have him play Fred."

The hunky rocker thinks the movie would end up being a mix between a "Northern kitchen-sink drama" and a "Pixar cartoon".

Tom quipped: "The film would be one-third gritty, Northern kitchen-sink drama, one-third drama about getting revenge on Wimbledon who disowned Fred for being a lad, and one-third like a Pixar cartoon, as we'd want an animated tennis ball playing Fred's best mate!"

Liam, 43, and his arch-enemy brother Noel have finished filming their forthcoming documentary 'Supersonic', so Liam has plenty of experience of working on real life productions.

The film focuses on the band's formation in 1991 and journey to their historic concerts at Knebworth Park in 1996 and is expected to be released in October.
