Coldplay and Gwen Stefani have been added to the line-up for the 2015 American Music Awards.

The chart-topping band - fronted by Chris Martin - will perform their new single 'Adventure Of A Lifetime' from forthcoming LP 'A Head Full of Dreams', while Gwen will sing her latest hit 'Used to Love You'.

Elsewhere rap-duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are also expected to play a new track.

The annual ceremony - held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles - will also see previously announced acts, including One Direction, Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, 5 Seconds of Summer, Meghan Trainor and Demi Lovato grace the stage.

Hosted by singer-turned actress Jennifer Lopez, this year's ceremony is set to see Taylor Swift take home the most prizes having been nominated for six awards.

The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Nicki Minaj and Meghan Trainor are among other acts shortlisted for awards.

The AMAs 2015 will be televised on November 22 live from Los Angeles.
