The 41-year-old singer Dido who released her third album in 2008 which – although it peaked at Number 2 in the UK Album chart – the singer has accepted people don’t remember it existing.
She said: “I get that a lot in cabs. ‘Oi, Dido, I’ve got both your albums, when you putting another one out?’ ”
She’s unfazed by the reaction, and has accepted her own decision not to tour the album is one of the reasons behind it.
She added: “There’s a lot of reasons why something doesn’t connect, not least ‘cause I found it difficult to go out and sing.”
Dido chose not to play live to support the record – influenced by the death of her father – because the songs were too personal.
She continued: “When I write songs, it’s very private. I’m not really thinking anyboy’s going to hear them.
“I did some gigs and it was quite hardcore. I thought, do I really want to go through this night after night?”
