Eminem's new album is a "revisitation" of his musical heyday.
The rapper claims his eighth studio album, 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2', won't be a sequel to his 2000 third record - which he considers to be his best work - but will instead share the nostalgia and same sound he used during that time.
He explained to Rolling Stone magazine: "It's not necessarily a sequel, as much as it is a revisitation. So there's not gonna be, like, continuations of every old song on there or anything like that. To me, it's more about the vibe, and it's more about the nostalgia."
The 'Lose Yourself' hitmaker knew fans would have extremely high expectations, so tried his best to make sure every song was up to scratch.
Eminem added: "Calling it 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2', obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations. I wouldn't want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that.
"I had to make sure that I had the right songs - and just when you think you got it, you listen and you're like, 'F**k, man! I feel like it needs this or that,' to paint the whole picture."
The hip-hop icon - who teams up with Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna on the new album - claims he has never worked so hard and the final mixes were still unfinished in October, despite its release date being November 5.
