Eric Clapton has shared his own musical tribute to Jack Bruce.

Left devestated when his friend and former bandmate passed away on October 25 this year, he's now posted a touching message on his Facebook page alongside a black and white photograph of the musician.

The instrumental ballad titled 'For Jack' features the 69-year-old strumming an acoustic guitar and harmonising at times.

Its arrival on social media comes after Jack was hailed by Eric as a "great inspiration".

Writing on his Facebook page he said: "He was a great musician and composer, and a tremendous inspiration to me."

The guitarist's website also went on to share a lengthy history of the bassist's musical career.

Cream's drummer Ginger Baker described Jack as a "fine man", putting out a statement via his fan club.

"I am very sad to learn of the loss of a fine man, Jack Bruce... My thoughts & wishes are with his family at this difficult time."

Jack passed away at his home surrounded by close friends and family, who went on to announce the news on his official Facebook page.

"It is with great sadness that we, Jack's family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, grandad, and all-round legend.

"The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts."
