The jazz and soul singer befriended the actor when they both appeared as guests on BBC's 'The One Show' on Wednesday night (12.10.16).

The pair got to chat backstage and Gregory is keen to get Tom in one of his promos after watching him dance in Carly Rae Jepsen's video for her hit single 'I Really Like You'.

He shared: "It was a pleasure to meet Tom. We are a big fans of his movies in our house and I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to watch his new movie 'Inferno' ... I know Tom's starred in a music video recently and his dancing was great. So you never know ... I'd love to work with him one day..."

Gregory, 44, performed 'Don't Lose Your Steam' from his new album 'Take Me To The Alley' on the show and impressed Tom, 60, with his soulful voice.

After meeting the 'Forrest Gump' actor, Gregory took to Twitter to share a photo of them together along with the tweet: "Great hang with @tomhanks at @BBCTheOneShow tonight! (sic)"

Gregory will soon become a screen star himself after it was announced that his debut documentary film, 'Gregory Porter: Don't Forget Your Music', will be released later this year.

It is an inspirational story of his unique musical talent, told through candid interviews, and exclusive access-all-areas coverage, tracing the Grammy award winner's journey to international fame.
