The former member of boyband The Wanted revealed that the pair have plans to team up later this year on a new song after holding discussions about what they could create together, and Nathan admits it'd be "insane" to work with Sam.

Speaking to E!, Nathan explained: "We've spoken about going into the studio before and I think it's quite likely going to happen over the next year.

"It'll be insane. I think it'll be such a great opportunity to create something really cool."

He was also delighted to see Sam scoop four awards at this year's Grammys ceremony, but admits he does become "biased" in wanting success for his fellow Brits.

"Sam Smith at the Grammys was just insane. I've listening to a lot of Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and I'm living in hope for this Adele album. So, yes, I am quite biased toward the Brits."

Nathan went on to confirm that one of his songs on his forthcoming debut album is about his split from Ariana Grande, but insists big revelations about his private life will never be made through his music.

"It's a very nice breakup song. I think if people are expecting me to throw shade... that's not going to happen. I'm not that type of person. I'd like be known to be a very kindhearted person."
