The event took place last night at the Shakespeare's Globe in London.

Also honoured were Kraken, named Band Of The Year and Breakthrough Award winners Syd Arthur.

The coveted Lifetime Achievement Award went to the founder of Camel, Andy Latimer, for his contribution to music.

Jerry Ewing, editor of Prog Magazine commented: "At a time when Kate Bush is playing live, a new Pink Floyd album and a King Crimson tour are also helping push progressive music into the public spotlight, a night like tonight really shows the diversity and far reaching appeal of this music."
