The 'Boys And Girls' pop star first met the 'Thinking Out Loud' hitmaker a decade ago when they both unsuccessfully auditioned for ITV drama 'Britannia High' and she has revealed she's keen on recording a duet with her old friend, who she has described as "an amazing songwriter".

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "I have been speaking to Ed about doing something together. I love Ed. He is brilliant and an amazing songwriter. We first met when we were 16 and auditioned for a TV drama called Britannia High. We've been friends for the past 10 years."

However, any plans for a potential duet have been put on hold for now, after the 'Shape of You' singer broke his left elbow, right wrist and damaged his ribs in cycling accident.

Pixie, 26, admitted: "I guess he can't really play the guitar right now, which is very unfortunate."

It comes after Ed, also 26, suffered fractures in his left elbow and right wrist and hurt his ribs after being involved in the incident in London earlier this month.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz recently about the incident at the Q Awards in the UK capital, he said: "I can't type at the moment, I've had a lot of emails but I haven't been able to look at them, I have an automatic reply that just goes out when I get an email so I don't know anyone whose emailed me because I can't look at them."

Ed has had to cancel a string of shows in Asia, including dates in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong, because he can't play the guitar while his broken bones heal.
