The singer's "excited" to have been asked to perform 'Grateful' from Beyond The Lights at the ceremony on February 22.

She took to Twitter to write: "I'm excited to announce @TheAcademy invited me to perform on the #Oscars on Feb 22nd! (sic)"

Show producers say the star's performance will add a touch of "glamour" to the evening.

Those producers - Craig Zadan and Neil Meron - said in a statement: "International recording artist, Rita Ora, will make her Oscar stage debut this year. The mixture of her incredible voice and glamour makes a perfect combination for our show."

Previously-announced performers include John Legend and Common who will sing the Golden Globe-winning song 'Glory' from Selma, and Adam Levine is to perform 'Begin Again' from Lost Stars.

Neil Patrick Harris will host the ceremony at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre.
