The former Police frontman feels inspired to write music more in winter and says he spent months researching songs from this time of year for his album 'If On A Winter's Night...'

Speaking to celebrate the release of Disney's new festive featurette, 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure', the 'Brand New Day' hitmaker said:

"At Christmas people sit around telling stories. I love that. For me Christmas is the season of the imagination. That's my favourite thing about it.

"I've always loved snow and the winter time, and for me, it is such a creative time.

"It's a time to reflect, so much so I spent about six months researching the music of the winter season, from every available source: classical music, folk music, sacred music, secular music, pre-Christian ideas even.

"And in the end I wrote about all these wonderful Christmassy things in the album 'If On A Winter's Night...'

"Oh yes, for me Christmas really is the season of the imagination."

'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' will be screened, ahead of 'Frozen', in cinemas nationwide on 25th and 26th November. Tickets on sale now.
