Turning 90 earlier this week, iconic crooner Tony Bennett had just one wish for his birthday - to collaborate with Beyoncé.

Despite working with some of the biggest names in the industry including Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse, there's still one big name Bennett wants to strike from his wishlist.

Speaking on US breakfast show Today, he said: "I like that Beyoncé, she's terrific. She's got a lot on the ball."

Despite reaching 90, Tony has no plans to retire and said of his popularity: "I'm thrilled about it, I can't even figure it out. I'm always sold out, throughout the world, for whoever I play. It's beautiful."

He continued: "I feel like I have so much more to learn yet.

"My doctor keeps telling me, 'There's not a thing wrong with you, just keep going at it'.

"I believe in the fact that it's a gift to be alive. I love the fact that I'm blessed to be on earth, and that my whole life, I love what I do."

Meanwhile, Bennett is gearing up for an exciting big birthday TV concert special. Some of his famous friends and collaborators will come together for the event, titled Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet To Come, with the show featuring performances from Wonder, Franklin, Gaga, Billy Joel, Elton John and Andrea Bocelli.

The tribute show broadcasts on America's NBC network in December of this year.
