Not only will Aerosmith, System Of A Down and Biffy Clyro be performing at the metal extravaganza held at Donington Park in Leicestershire, East Midlands, between June 9 and June 11, but stars of the wrestling world, including Bobby Roode, Aleister Black, Tye Dillinger, Kassius Ohno, Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe, Killian Dain and Nikki Cross will compete in the ring at a ring in the festival's arena.

Last year saw Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative and WWE icon Triple H awarded the Metal Hammer 'Spirit Of Lemmy' award on the main stage, for his relationship with the late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, which saw the rock and wrestling worlds come together.

Download Festival Promoter, Dave Bradley said:

"Having WWE NXT at Download is like seeing what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object - you just know sparks are gonna fly! Wrestling and rock music go hand in hand and if last year is anything to go by, this exclusive festival experience is only going to be bigger & better for round two! This is not to be missed."

Current NXT Champion Bobby Roode, who made headlines with his NXT debut at last year's Download Festival added: "Download was my very first show in NXT. The combination of NXT Superstars and massive musical acts, entertaining tens of thousands of passionate fans makes Download a unique experience. Returning to Download as NXT Champion will make this an extra special moment for me as a performer."

WWE has long been associated with rock culture and has seen collaborations with the 'Ace of Spades' hitmakers, Killswitch Engage, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, Living Colour, Rob Zombie, POD and many more.
