Did you know it's National Stocking Day?
The stocking has long since been regarded as a traditional female staple. Since it was invented in 1589, it's come a long way and have inspired fashionable and trendy legwear all over the world.
We have the stocking to thank for iconic legwear including tights, 
leggings, over the knee socks and many more, which have kept ladies legs warm and on trend over the years.
When they first made their debut in stores in New York, ladies snapped up more than 72,000 pairs, and now 20 October marks not only a special day for fashion, but also for Breast Cancer Care.
Charnos the hosiery specialist, in the past has donated a percentage of the proceeds from the sales of a stocking specially designed for this occassion to the Charity, in aid of it's Pink Day.
With classic icons including Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe as wearers of the timeless staple, they have found their place in fashion history and will remain a statement piece for many years to come.
