Ben Howard looks at fame as "unhealthy".
The laid-back folk-singer won two BRIT Awards for British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male Artist earlier this year, but shunned the glamorous ceremony's afterparties to celebrate with his close friends and family in a pub.
Ben told RollingStone.es he doesn't "believe in fame," adding: "I know it exists but it's not important for me. It's a bit unhealthy. It's funny the way it affects many people. I'm not interested in it.
"[The BRITs] were exciting but I had more fun after the ceremony. I spent two days celebrating it in a pub."
Unlike most double-BRIT Award winners, the humble star said he wished to disappear from the showbiz scene straight after celebrating his success because he wanted to "play the guitar, staring into space, without worries."
Ben hopes his success means he can still walk around unnoticed and lead a near-normal life.
He has previously said: "I got told that 'Who the f**k is Ben Howard?' was trending on Twitter [after the BRITs]. I like the idea of it. I was never in music to make it to award shows. I s**t myself when the paparazzi were taking photos."
Despite his aversion to fame, Ben's debut album made the UK top 10 and he is playing across Europe and America this summer.
