Labrinth has been inspired by Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' on his new album.
The 'Earthquake' hit-maker claims the French duo's mega disco hit gave him ideas for the "soulful" sound he is attempting on the follow up to his 2011 debut 'Electronic Earth.
The star, real name Timothy McKenzie, told the Daily Star newspaper: "When I heard their record I felt: 'We need more of this stuff'. Dance music can be devoid of soul so bringing acoustic instruments back is a powerful thing.
"The next album is amazing. I'm excited as it's a bit more live, more orchestral and there's horn sections."
The 24-year-old singer and producer is excited to experiment with differnt equipment for the new album.
He added: "I'm still exploring new stuff and have been buying an insane amount of vintage synthesisers as I want people to see where I've come from in terms of gospel, soul. A lot more of my voice and musicality shines through."
"It all ties together a lot more on this album. The last one was like a crazy kid in a sweet shop that threw everything in but this is more coherent. Every song on the radio is totally different but I like to think that I got there first."
The star is also planning another collaboration with Emeli Sande, following the success of their single 'Beneath Your Beautiful' in both Europe and the US.
He said:"Emeli came in the studio recently and said: 'Lab, we've got to work together again' so we have to find space in our diaries but it will definitely happen."
