The Killers haven't made their "groundbreaking" album yet.

The band have had commercial success, selling over 20 million records in their career, but are hoping to make a new album which breaks musical boundaries like The Beatles' 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', which significantly altered the pop landscape on its release in 1967.

Singer Brandon Flowers said: "We haven't made our 'Sgt Pepper's' yet. We've made good albums and great songs, but that sort of groundbreaking album is the one thing we haven't done."

Fans may not have to wait for as long as they may have thought for the band to follow up 2012's 'Battle Born', as guitarist Dave Keuning says they are writing new songs all the time.

He told NME magazine: "We're writing stuff. We're not sure when the next album is coming out or what it'll be, but we always write, even when we're on tour. I don't think it will be as long."
