Tinie Tempah wants a "step by step" instruction manual from Jay-Z and Kanye West on succeeding in music.
The 24-year-old rapper, whose Diplo produced single 'Trampoline' debuted on Mista Jam's BBC1Xtra show last night (02.07.13), doesn't understand how to make his music appeal to the global market, but told the radio host: "If there was a step by step instruction on how to do it, I would love to write it down. I would love to read from people like Jay Z, and people like Kanye West about how to really do it."
Jay-Z and Kanye West have been praised as today's most influential rappers with their collaborative 'Watch The Throne' album breaking the U.S. iTunes first week sales in 2011, and Tinie is keen to follow in their musical footsteps.
He added: "I think the greatest indication of how people kind of do it, is that the lead through their music and they lead through their legacy and I guess that's all I'm just trying to do as well."
The rapper, who's debut album, 'Dis-covery', was released in 2011, spoke of his follow-up album 'Demonstration' and said there was no pressure, insisting he "wanted to make something that was fun."
Speaking about his inspiration 'Trampoline', Tinie joked: "I was always able to get people jumping, so I kind of tied that in with a little joke that people made about me jumping really high in all my performances. That's why it's called Trampoline."
Tinie recently moved back the UK after a stint in Los Angeles, saying he was worried the US city's "yes men" would have resulted in an American sounding album.
He said: "I had a lot recorded and I just thought, 'Sc**w this, I've got to go home, where people are more real.' "
