Siren

Stefan Evan Niedermeyer a.k.a Siren is the 21-year-old half-German half-Australian ex pro-skater turned alt-indie-pop troubadour. Raised in Singapore and now residing in London he releases his new single ‘Here Today’ on November 12th through Loose Lips Records.

Since arriving in the UK this supremely talented multi-instrumentalist has worked with the likes of The Shoes and Alex Metric before breaking out and writing/recording under his Siren moniker with the aid of top producers Ash Workman (Metronomy) and Craig Silvey (mixed Arcade Fire/Artic Monkeys/Anna Calvi/Florence And The Machineetc.).

Siren’s debut doubleA-side 'The Surrender/Buckets of Blood', was released in April 2012 on Loose Lips Records and picked up radio play from the likes of Zane Lowe (Next Hype Play), Nick Grimshaw and Steve Lamacq.

Stefan created his own video for 'Buckets of Blood', which was shot in London and filmed the follow-up video for 'The Surrender' in L.A. with the help of the Habitat Skateboard pro-skate team.

New single ‘Here Today’ sees Craig Silvey back on production duties and it’s accompanying video - shot in Vancouver and Whistler - was made with the help of world-renowned pro-longboard team Landyatchz.

It features top riders Justen Ortiz, Travis Craig and Charlie Darragh. From the blissed-outpiano intro and acoustic guitar build the track then snaps into a polyrhythmic staccato pulse that strikes a perfect counterpoint to Stefan’s effortless vocal before building into a rousing multi-layered chorus.

Siren releases ‘Here Today’ on November 12th through Loose Lips Records. His debut album is due out in 2013.
