Waylayers - Magnets

Waylayers - Magnets

After touring Europe and spending some time away in the studio honing and perfecting their craft, East London trio Waylayers are back with their new single ‘Magnets’. Mastered at Abbey Road, this epic and euphoric track has a real pop sensibility and is packed full of synths and catchy hooks.

Waylayers consists of Harry Lee (vocals, synths), Dave Norman (bass) and Joe Andrews (guitar). Together they create music that has been described as ‘atmospheric pop’.

Fusing elements of electronica and indie-rock with a pinch of pop sensibility, they create the characteristic Waylayers’ sound - synths, a catchy riff and ethereal melodious vocals.

Prior to this single release of ‘Magnets’, the band have featured as Steve Lamacq’s ‘unsigned band of the week’ on his BBC 6Music show, as well as receiving a whole lot of blog loving for their debut single ‘Hear No Lies’. The band were even lucky enough to have a track produced by Ewan Pearson (Delphic) called ‘Fires’, which popped up on the Kitsuné Maison 10 compilation.

Alex Brown, who has worked with the likes of The Maccabees, Klaxons, La Roux and James Blake, directed the video for ‘Magnets’.

You can see Waylayers live in London at the Bull & Gateon 30th October. ‘Magnets’ is released digitally on 26th November.
