A Day To Remember - By Andy Squire

A Day To Remember were the band I was most looking forward to checking out this weekend, mainly because they are one of the best bands around at the moment, and partly because Neil Westfall is the hottest man on the planet.

Playing only a 25 minute set, they managed to play a handful of their tracks from Homesick, including lead single Downfall Of Us All and Mr Highway’s Thinking About The End, as well as some old favourites such as The Plot To Bomb The Panhandle and There’s A danger In Starting A Fire.

The crowd that had packed into the field around the second stage was immense, with many people missing the end of British screamo gods The Blackout’s set for the chance to see A Day To Remember in their new line up since Tom Denney’s departure, with Kevin Skaff, formerly of Four Letter Lie taking over lead guitar duties.

Overall, it was a get set, albeit a little short for the fans who could have quite happily watched them all day. Proving that even when you’re from Ocala, Florida, you can stick kick ass in Donnington Park.

I caught up with the band after their set to talk about their new line-up and forthcoming singles, so keep your eyes out for my chat with the lads coming later this week!
