Biffy Clyro - Revolutions // Live At Wembley

Biffy Clyro - Revolutions // Live At Wembley

Biffy Clyro have managed to create a great live album that looks at more than just their latest album.

It does lean heavily on Only Revolutions, but with the title that was to be expected.

Revolutions // Live At Wembley manages to throw in some old favourites from Biffy's past, blending them well with new material.

'57' is suitably loud and energetic, fitting well in a set with newer tracks like 'The Golden Rules'.

A great surprise is a stunning version of 'Diary of Always', forming part of an acoustic section.

This section is actually a highlight of the set and live CD, including beautiful acoustic performance of 'Folding Stars'.

Admittedly live albums can be a mixed bag, if the sound isn't perfect to make up for the lack of video.

Part of the live experience is the visuals of the show itself, and some of Revolutions // Live At Wembley's impact is lost a bit.

However, the production is excellent, managing to sound clean without seeming like a studio album.

Similarly, the crowd levels are just about right, adding to the atmosphere without taking anything away from the songs.

Revolutions // Live At Wembley makes it clear why Biffy Clyro are scene as one of the best rock bands in the UK.

It's a stunning set, despite it's focus on Only Revolutions.

In Biffy's defence, it was a fantastic rock album, and some of these tracks ('Bubbles' and 'Many of Horror') sound amazing in this setting.

Biffy Clyro are one of the most exciting live bands in the country, and Revolutions // Live At Wembley does a great job of capturing that with a diverse and energetic set.
