Double Denim...

Okay, so I vowed never to write about Joe McElderry again when a handful of his  fans launched an internet tirade against me after I wrote something bad about the Dale Winton-alike a few months ago. But after hearing his new single, I thought it wasn't very fair to let a few barmpots ruin Joe's media coverage on FF.

Granted, there are a few people who love the X Factor winner so much that they will act like a pack of hounds chasing a rabbit if they think it will get the McElderry approval… but obviously he has no idea who these middle-aged obsessive's are, so I shouldn't judge him purely on the fact that some of his fans might be beserk.

That said, this morning I reluctantly decided to give his new single, Ambitions a bit of a spin, and I've got to be honest, I expected it to be a bit rubbish, but I was pleasantly surprised.

In fact, Ambitions sounds a bit like what I'd imagine the Scissor Sisters to sound like if they too won a talent show and had some 30-something bloke writing their songs for them, but I still like it.

Thank God he's moved away from that droneful song The Climb (which let's face it, only ever sounds decent when sung by Miss Cyrus) and put his hand to something half-decent. In fact, I even bet he'll cinch himself a number one when this comes out next month.

Have a listen and see if you agree.
