When We Were Wolves were formed back in 2011 and since then they have been making a name for themselves on the live circuit - particularly in their native South Wales.

But this week sees the band release their debut EP as they bring their hard-core rock and roll to a wider audience.

All Good People Must Come To An End is the first track on the record and it is one of the most atmospheric songs on the EP - it does boarder on quite eerie.

The track mixes quite emotive guitar work that is incredibly sharp and clean with fuzzy and quite anguished vocals and that is what creates the atmosphere on this song.

The guitar really kicks in on Under The Water and this really is a heavy metal track and there is an incredibly power to it.

This Is Where We Belong follows in a similar vein and it all just becomes a little run of the mill. Gone is the atmosphere that made the first track so great and it is replaced by riffs that we have heard before.

This genre of music may not be for everyone and if heavy rock and screaming isn’t your cup of tea then it is unlikely that you will enjoy this album.

However if you are a fan of this genre of music then When We Were Wolves are a band to keep a close eye on as it looks like they will go from strength to strength over the next twelve months or so.

They really show what they can do with the opening track on this EP and it is really up to them now what happens next - if they produce more tracks like All Good People Must Come To An End then they will be on to a winner.
