It has been three years since Hatcham Social released their debut album You Dig The Tunnel, I’ll Hide The Soil but now they are back with their new LP About Girls.

And this album really is all about girls as the band reminisce about the girls that they have loved and lost and lusted over.

This is perhaps more of a guitar based sound than the debut album but it is an album that is catchy from start to finish as well as having a great up-beat vibe to it.

NY Girl kicks off the album, there is just a great guitar intro, and it paves the way for the rest of the record as it is one of those nod your head and tap your feet tracks.

There is a great and catchy riff and it is one of the tracks that will just put a smile on your face.

Nicola Tells Me is a personal fave as it is just so catchy it’s unreal - ’black peppercorns make me sneeze’ the lyrics don’t make much sense but boy does this track get in your head - you will be constantly singing it afterwards.

And rather annoyingly all the tracks as just as likely to stick in your head as the last Lois Lane is another light and breezy  track, with some more great guitar work on there.

It’s great to see a band try something different from album to album rather than just go with a tried and tested method.

Hatcham Social really is a great album that I enjoyed from start to finish, it’s rare that you get an album where every song is up-beat and catchy; there really is no weak link.

About Girls is one of those albums that will just brighten your day as it so upbeat, it really is a breath of fresh air.

I can’t wait to see what this four piece comes up with next!!
