OUT NOW

Rating: 5/5

The Cellophane Flowers grabbed everyone’s attention when they released their EP If I Was A Girl and so there has been much anticipation surrounding their debut album.

And Staring At The World is that debut album - if you are new to this band’s music then this record is a great place to start as it is nothing short of fantastic.

The band mixes folk elements and indie sounds to create their own unique sound that has an incredibly fresh feel to it.

Voice is the opening track on the record and Francesca Corradini is on lead vocals on the song and she as an incredibly distinct and mesmerising voice.

There is a real excitement to this track and the sonic guitar that features sounds fantastic with Corradini’s vocal. The track builds and builds and Corrandini’s voice has a real frenzy about it as the track progresses and it is just sounds great.

The Promise is a guitar driven track that is packed with a great bassline as well as engaging riffs and melodies.

While Corradini once again sounds great it is the guitar work on this track that really makes it stand out as there is a real darkness to the riffs from bassist Luca Napolitano.

Pendulum Eyes is another track that has a rock element to it and it is one of the catchiest tracks on the record. - once again the solo guitar moments sound great.

They bring the pace down with Forever Lost as it is more of an acoustic track as Corrandini’s vocal is supported with an acoustic guitar before sounds of the electric guitar kick in.

The beginning of the track does show a more delicate side to the sound of the band before the beat really kicks in half way through.

There really is no bad track on this record as they hit you with quality track after quality track and they all have a very different feel to them.

Staring At The World is an album that really shows The Cellophane Flowers on super top form as they have produced a collection of tracks that are just so infectious.

They mix elements of folk, indie and rock seamlessly and created a sound that is all their own that is something completely fresh and new.

If you only check out one new record this week then make sure that it is the latest offering from The Cellophane Flowers - they deserve a huge amount of success with this record.
