It seems all we have done here at FemaleFirst this summer is heap praise on The Robbie Boyd Band and the music that they have released.
This week The Robbie Boyd Band is back with their new EP Spring Generation which is a collection of four new tracks.
When I Believe is the first track on the EP as well as the first single to be lifted off it and it is a song that has the Robbie Boyd Band stamp all over it.
It is upbeat ballad that has a great melody and a catchy chorus - the band just has this knack for writing songs that lift your spirits and stick in your head.
This is one of the most radio friendly tracks that they have ever released and has more of a pop vibe than ever before.
Spring Generation sees them go back to their folk roots and this is another track that has a great melody and some fab lick.
The track features the acoustic guitar as well as some great strings, when the latter kick in about half way through the track really comes to life.
The Lean is more of an acoustic guitar and Robbie Boyd’s vocals take centre stage - it really is a great track.
Unlock The Key rounds off this four track EP and it is another track that is light on production.
Spring Generation EP sees The Robbie Boyd Band progress even further as they have delivered a collection of tracks that tell a story and are so vivid with the imagery that they create.
While their folk sound is there for everyone to hear they have taken on a more pop element with When I Believe and it is great to see them changing up their sound.
The band has already enjoyed a hugely successful 2012 and that looks set to continue with another unmissable EP.
