Very rarely does a song capture my attention in the way that Sia's latest single manages to do.

It may be too early to call this one of the best songs of our generation, but the passion and excrutiating pain you can feel behind the vocals in this track should evoke emotion from those who truly take the time out to contemplate the meaning behind each word.

What I personally get from the track is a woman who's dealing with being moulded and manipulated into a 'party girl', told she's not allowed to feel emotion and who must put on a smile when in the spotlight despite anything else she might be feeling.

It's heart-wrenching and tragic, but then all of the best things usually are.

Sia should be massively proud of the leaps and bounds she continues to make in her career, stamping out the idea that she's just another phony female in the world of pop and proving you don't need to make a fool of yourself to be successful.

Sia's 'Chandelier' is released Sunday, June 29 in the UK.
