Using a 'cutesy' voice is a no no

Parents beware, using a ‘cutesy’ voice is by far the most annoying thing you can do to rattle the British public, including other mums and dads, around you.

I guess all you can do is try to see the funny side of these things. And I’m sure .... we’ll all end up doing the same once we have children.

Putting baby related status updates on Facebook and putting babies on the phone take second and third place, respectively, in a new poll revealing the top ten most annoying parenting habit.

In order to find out more about how Britons feel about parenting, www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk polled 1,254 Britons across the UK, of which 56 per cent agreed that there was at least one parenting habit that they find annoying.

The list of top ten most annoying parenting habits also included; not disciplining children when unruly in public, swearing in front of children and blaming the kids for not going out anymore.

Mark Pearson, Chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, said: “It can be tricky to admit to your friends what you find annoying about their parenting habits, even more so if you don’t have children yourself as they could return the criticism by blaming you for not understanding what being a parent feels like.”

Parents who constantly say how perfect their child is; those who criticise other parents’ kids; mums and dads who wear matching outfits with their daughter or son; and using their children as an excuse to be unsociable, all rounded off the top ten list, taking 7th – 10th place respectively.

Mark added: “I guess all you can do is try to see the funny side of these things. And I’m sure even if most of us will agree to find at least one of these things annoying; we’ll all end up doing the same once we have children.”
