Would you give back the ring like Katie has done?

Would you give back the ring like Katie has done?

The latest news from Celebville is that Katie Price has had to return her bespoke engagement ring from ex-fiancé Leandro Penna after it is rumoured he didn’t pay the bill to cover it.

Katie had the ring designed and made for her under the impression that it was an engagement ring from her then fiance, Leandro Penna.

Leandro said he had no knowledge of the ring until the bill landed upon his desk, saying that Katie had it designed and made behind his back.

Whatever the true story, the real question is do you give back an engagement ring after the engagement is called off or is it a gift?

Katie Price isn’t the only one who has been forced to give the ring back. The Bachelorette star Emily Maynard has had to give TWO engagement rings back.

As the rules of reality TV state, if the couple doesn’t marry, the engagement ring must be returned, and considering both of her engagements were derived from reality TV, both of the rings had to be returned.

After the infamous 72 day marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, Kris told Kim that he wanted the $450,000 diamond engagement ring back.

Kim allegedly refused to give back the ring as she felt the right to keep it having gone through with the marriage.

So what do you think? Is it fair to have the engagement ring back or do you feel it was a gift from your partner?

We here at the FemaleFirst offices have had a little debate and have come to a final conclusion.

After a good half an hour debate, and Taryn insisting that Kim Kardashian did the right thing, we have come to the conclusion that it completely depends on the circumstance.

If the man broke off the engagement/wedding then we feel that the woman has every right to keep hold of the ring.

If, however, the woman ends it then we feel it is only fair that they return the ring in exchange for breaking the poor man’s heart.

There you have it, fair is fair, but what would you do in the same situation?
