The 23-year-old Canadian started out in modelling which lead to her getting casting calls for TV roles.
She starred in a number of small TV roles from 2006 but her main role, and breakout role, was in the TV show Degrassi: The Next Generation.
She played Mia Jones, a single teenage mother, and starred in the show from series 6 through to series 9.
She starred in a number of other TV and film roles up until 2009, her biggest role being in the thriller Chloe, alongside Amanda Seyfried and Liam Neeson.
That same year, she joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries as Elena Gilbet and Katherine Pierce, showing a range of her acting skills as well as her hot physique.
The role in the popular TV show propelled her into the realms of the A-listers and she appeared in a number of films of the back of it.
In 2011 she starred in The Roomate alongside Leighton Meester and Cam Gigandet which didn’t exactly get rave reviews from critics.
Most recently she starred in The Perks of Being a Wallflower alongside Emma Watson, Ezra Miller and Logan Lerman.
Now, she continues to work on The Vampire Diaries which has just premiered its fourth series.
Unfortunately lads she is dating her co-star Ian Somerhalder, but it doesn’t hurt to look, right?
