Watchmywallet.com conducted a survey of 1,500 men and women to see how smoking affects how attractive you are to the opposite sex.

Fifty seven per cent of men find women less attractive if they smoke, but if the roles are reversed, only 22 per cent women find men less attractive if they smoke.

It appears that women like a bit of a bad boy when it comes to men, as 63 per cent of us find men more attractive if they smoke, compared to the 18 per cent of men that find women more attractive for smoking.

Twenty five per cent of men said it made no difference to them whether a women smoked or not, but women seem to be more firm minded as only 15 per cent of them said they didn’t mind either way.

So who is more like to smoke, and when? Well in the 18-25 year old age group, 67 per cent of men smoked and 58 per cent of women smoked.

As men get older they are less likely to smoke as only 62 per cent of men aged 26-40 smoke. Women are slightly more like to smoke as they age, as 58 per cent of women in the same age group smoke.

Obviously, smoke seriously damages your health and lead to an early grave, but your health is not the only thing you’re damaging.

A pack of 20 cigarettes costs on average £7.20, so if you’re smoking a pack a day, that’s over £50 a week you’re smoking away.

Watchmywallet.com found that men spend more than women, with men spending £54 a week compared to women spending £47.

Whatever you preference, just keep the health issues and damage it’s doing to your wallet in mind!
