Tiger Woods Used Golfing As An Excuse To Cheat

The phrase ‘Honey, I’m just going playing a few rounds of golf’ seems innocent but it appears that it’s the phrase women should be most wary of.

Extra marital affairs dating website IllicitEncounters.com found that 45 per cent of men are using golf as an excuse to go and cheat on their partners.

The second most popular excuse was motor-racing, which comes as no surprise as men generally have a penchant for cars and women never question it!

Illicit Encounters Spokesperson Rosie Freeman-Jones said, “It is not unusual for men to use an existing hobby like golf or an interest such as cars as an excuse to get out of the house, I have even seen examples of men taking up hobbies as a cover for a secret relationship.”

Golf is thought be a great excuse simply due to its longevity. Golf can last all day, meaning that if a man is gone for a number of hours it won’t be questioned to heavily by his partner.

Due to the remote location of the golf courses, it’s thought that men can also blame the lack of signal for not calling sooner, keeping them in good books with their partner.

A game of football with his mates was the third most popular excuse, with 14 per cent saying they use this as a regular excuse to get out of the house.

Using sport as an excuse was very popular as an additional 11 per cent said they used ‘watching a game of cricket’ to cheat and a further 2 per cent used rugby as their excuse.

It seems that fishing is no longer a popular past time as only a tiny 1 per cent of men said that they used a fishing weekend as an excuse to sneak off and see their secret lover.

Have you ever had these excuses used on you? Would you confront someone if you knew they’d been cheating?
