American Horror Story actress Connie Britton turns 47 today, so we take a look back over her past relationships.

Britton still uses her married name as her stage name despite being divorced from her husband, John Britton for almost 20 years. In an interview she recalled what got them through the good times; ' I think that sense of humour is important in marriage. A sense of humour gets people through marriage.' (IMDB)
The couple met at the Alpha Delta House at Dartmouth College and then moved to Manhattan together in 1989. They got married in 1991, but sadly divorced in 1995. She recalled; 'Divorce is hard. I was about 29 when my husband and I split up. I think we probably fared better than most, because we were young and didn't have kids - but divorce is hard.' (IMDB)
She then dated comedian Jason Matzoukas.
In November 2011, she adopted a son Eyob (Yoby) from Ethiopia and is now a single mum. 'There are so many women out there who are single moms, really not by choice, and doing it and making it work every day. I think it's becoming much more a part of our culture and I hope that it will become more accepted and that those women are going to be more and more appreciated, respected and supported. Even on my worst days, the instant softening and loving that my son gives me without ever knowing he's doing it, without any premeditation or self-consciousness, is something I could never have imagined, yet always dreamed of.'
